The historic town of Vineyard Haven was known as the home of ship builders, where many large schooners were built over the years. There still exists a ship builder in Vineyard Haven, Gannon & Benjamin Marine Railway is located right next to the Black Dog. This quaint town was called Holmes Hole until 1871. Spring Street which runs right up from Main St is one of the oldest streets in Vineyard Haven. This is where this lovely house, which was built by the owners in 2013, sits large on it’s lot. The location is the best of two worlds; close enough to town that in 5 minutes you can be walking along Main St shopping at all the local stores, or having lunch at one of the restaurants or just sitting on a park bench eating an ice cream cone. If you need to catch a ferry, that is a 10 minute walk. And yet, most of the time you are far from the “Maddening Crowd” tucked away at 128 Spring Street. The house has a large living room with a mantel fireplace, spacious kitchen, dining room, half bath, mud room, and an attached in-law apartment, which can have many uses depending on the needs of the new owner. The second floor of the house has a master bedroom ensuite, and 3 other ample bedrooms with another full bath. The basement is partially finished with an exterior access. This house is perfect for a family, or anyone who loves living close to the historic village of Vineyard Haven. Interesting note: behind the house on a separate lot is a 1 bedroom Guest House with a 4 bedroom septic, which means the the Guest House could be added onto or a separate house could be built. This would be a separate purchase.
