With a tasteful design that is consistent throughout, this home has been lovingly transformed to seamlessly blend its old-world character and charm with modern interiors and updated furnishings. The cool white interior with shades of blue not only offers sereneness but nods to Edgartown’s past era as a center of the whaling industry.
It was during this time that Dr. Pierce built this house, looking north towards Nantucket Sound. He built his home with fine craftsmanship and attention to detail and elegance such as found in the grand staircase with a banister that curves like a seashell. A Doctor of impeccable reputation, he cared for the people of Edgartown during the height of the whaling industry. With little imagination, we can imagine his wife, Chloe, gazing out the many windows at the view of the gardens. Oh, the stories they must have shared inside these walls!
Today, as you walk through this stately historic house with 3,910 square feet of living space, you will find beautiful hardwood floors and generously sized rooms for entertaining. The three working fireplaces provide a fantastic space for cozy nights with your loved ones.
